I am going to have foot surgery soon and am trying to find a way to get the dogs out in the yard without having to go through the basement. I have been going out the front door and opening the gate since there is only four steps compared to twelve down the basement then four out to the yard. The unexpected happened tonight as I did not see someone come up with her two dogs. I grabbed her dogs as they were small and tried to get my two back in the house. I wound up getting bit as well as Corky. I was not using leashes so I think now I will as the stairs will be a major problem with crutches. Any ideas would be helpful.
